History of the Mains Group of Companies
The mains Group of Companies began with Mains Crane & Rigging, established in 1994 by founder Craig Mains (1950-2010) in Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
Mains Transportation Services was founded in 2005 to compliment the growing crane business. It began as Ray Paul Transport Ltd., a partnership between Craig Mains and Ray Paul. The company was renamed in 2009 to Mains Transportation Services when Ray Paul left to pursue other ventures until he returned in 2011.
Nisku Engineering was founded in 2007, again to compliment the every growing crane business. Engineered lift studies and non-destructive structural inspections formed the basis of this business.
In 2008, Independent Crane & Equipment was established to help in the maintenance and repair of the growing fleet of cranes, tractors and trailers. Although I.C.E. was originally focused on the Mains equipment fleets it quickly became an important service provider to other, outside companies.
Following a period of growth in 2008 and 2009 in Canada, Mains Crane & Rigging expanded into the United States market establishing Mains Crane U.S.A. late in 2009 in Fargo, North Dakota. There was a relatively quick expansion into Bismarck, North Dakota in 2010.
Today, the Mains Group of Companies continues to grow. Although the founder, Craig Mains, is no longer with us, the companies are manned with experienced and dedicated individuals who are excited to continue what Craig began over 15 years earlier, Safely and Professionally serving a growing client base in an ever increasing geographic market.
